Today i was going to write something about rape victims and stuff, but something better caught my eye as i was reading the latest news. For most of you who haven’t heard the claims,i REPEAT claims yet,the Mexican-born actress, that Kenyan idol Lupita Nyong’o declared on a radio station on Saturday that yes she is HIV positive.Claims from an American website http://houstonchronicle-tv.com/enough-is-enough-as-actress-reveals-shes-hiv-positive/
Lupita Nyong’o who lately tweeted a picture of her and Rihanna that went viral, had kept it a secret from the world for 11 years. She further says that last year after finding out that her CD4 count was 99 her doctor told her that she needed to tell her family about it.The family was shocked but supportive which is what every victim hopes for when coming out.
Lupita found out she was HIV positive at the age of 23 and she had contracted the virus from her ex-lover.The allegations seem to come from Lupita’s role in Shuga- a TV drama sequel that was watched in over 40 African countries.
“I think one thing Shuga is trying to do is talk about how HIV and AIDS is not a death sentence HIV is a condition that can be managed, if one chooses to do so, if one catches it early on you can live a healthy life with HIV. I’ve been able to be an ambassador for HIV and AIDS.” Lupita told CNN at a past interview.
Our society today makes us think HIV is a monster, but it’s really not.Once detected early then it doesn’t really mean death.Just as i assume you are shocked am also really shocked by the claims that Lupita is HIV positive and she felt the need to come out to the world about her condition.I know that going for the test the first time might be really scary but you really need to know your status so as to keep safe.I have never gone for a test but i plan to soonest possible.

Whether the story is true or not, stigmatization is not an option.I don’t really know whether my sources are doing this for publicity or their is something to it but as far as am concerned, that is not my main concern. My main concern is helping people to know more info on the disease, how to keep safe and how to deal with the situation is found positive.
For the next two days or so HIV will be on the limelight here so subscribe and share.
